No Smell Skunk Eviction

Skunks on your property stink in both the figurative and literal sense. Evicting them can sometimes make the stench WORSE before things get better.

Using the wrong sized trap that allows the skunk to raise its tail, or using a trap that causes the skunk to struggle and be on the defensive will almost always cause the skunk to spray and add to an already smelly affair.

When Huntsman wildlife performs a skunk eviction we use a tried and true method to ensure we quickly, efficiently, and ethically remove the skunk and prevent any further nose offending instances.

The first goal is to limit the skunks' access to their den. If the den is under a shed, porch, deck, or patio, we install a powder coated steel geo-mesh in order to “funnel” the skunk to one predetermined 6 inch section we leave open.

Right in front of that six inch space we install a two way pass through trap. This allows skunks on both sides (coming or going) of the geo-mesh to enter the trap.

Once the skunk enters the trap, the electronic monitor alerts us of the capture in real time and we dispatch a member of our animal team to remove the skunk and set another trap in it’s place. We continue this process until we go 72 hours with no captures in the trap and no activity is showing on the monitors.

After we have made that 72 hour window we remove the trap and install the last section of geo-mesh in the place the trap was set. After all is said and done, and if everything goes as planned, within days you are skunk free and the smell has dissipated if not gone away.
